CASA School Supply Drive

School Supplies Horizontal

CASA de las Comunidades is centered in the international district where violence, drugs and poverty prevail among the families. As part of the mission of CASA, we strive to “accompany the families and individual persons who are oppressed and alienated by a competitive and individualistic society.” This said, as the school year quickly approaches, CASA would like to provide families in need with school supplies. We ask that you help these children by sponsoring a child, dropping supplies off at our location or donating to our school supply fund.

If you would like to sponsor a child, you will receive a school supply list for a specific child. You may deliver the supplies personally if you choose to, otherwise CASA will deliver the supplies. If you are interested in sponsoring a child, you can contact:

                        Adriana Sandoval– 505-423-0578,

                        Andrew Tafoya– 505-615-2986,

                        Sr. Teresa– 505-249-2781

You can stop by our location at 444 Chama St. SE Albuquerque, NM 87108 to drop off donations on

Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00pm-5:00pm or on Saturday morning. If you would like to drop by another time please contact us so we can make sure to collect the items.

If you would like to contribute to our school supply fund you can make a check to Casa de las Comunidades or go to our website and give via PayPal:

How difficult is it for unaccompanied minors to receive asylum in the US? Follow this link:

If you feel helpless, you’re not alone. Casa is meeting tonight about how we might respond. Sr. Teresa and Alan visited several detention centers in El Paso but were not allowed to see any children. They brought greeting cards for the children to communicate our solidarity with them. We also know that volunteers are needed for 2 days to a week at a time to attend the night shifts at centers sponsored by the Las Cruces Diocese. More information to follow.
