Food Sharing

One of the core values of the Catholic Worker is Hospitality.  All are welcomed as Christ at Casa de las Comunidades.  Sharing food is a big part of what it means for us to be hospitable.  Nothing we have belongs to us, rather it is up to us be good stewards of our gifts.  Clothing and food, especially fresh produce, are shared on Saturdays at 11 am through the generous donations of Sprouts on Lomas, Community Plate, and other members of our community.  Families and individuals in need can come to CDLC and receive a box of food.  Of course, we welcome all those who are hungry who come to our door at other times; if we have food, we share it.

Currently CDLC is in need of volunteers to help with Saturday food pick ups for our food sharing program. Volunteers meet at 10am at the loading dock of Sprouts on Lomas.  If you have a vehicle and would like to share your time and resources with us, please call 505.265.2371.
